Particularly they focus on the concept of decolonizing our minds and finding mental health through reclaiming indigenous practices.
Saludos love,
I recently had a chance to talk to about all things decolonizing our mind with Dr. LaMisha Hill Ph.D. and Dr. Bedford Palmer Ph.D. on the Naming It Podcast. We got into so many issues I find myself having to go back to it, writing notes, and wanting to add more.
This is one of my favorite podcasts as it centers the voices of Black psychologists and folx of color. Please listen to hear our take on recent issues, on what colonial mentality is, how it shows up in our lives and some ways to combat it.
Set aside some time, and press play down below to listen to the full Naming It Podcast episode. And, come back and let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear from you! I think this is a timely episode as folx of color are feeling pressure to hide because of white supremacist attacks. This all settler colonial violence and impacts our spirit, our psyche. Don't allow it. You are far more powerful than they've led you to believe. And, together we are unstoppable!
I LOVE YOU AND I AM WITH YOU! ✊🏼💖 And, I'm curious what does decolonizing the mind mean to you?
Take a listen to the full episode below.
